Folk - Tassignon Quartet
The founders of the Folk-Tassignon Quartet are the Belgian singer Sophie Tassignon and the German-American saxophonist Susanne Folk. They met at the “International Workshop for Jazz and creative Music” in Banff, Canada, where they began their collaboration. Back in Europe the two musicians decided to form a quartet with double bass and violin and kept on writing and arranging songs for this almost chamber-musical setting. Their love for melancholy is reflected in the songs of both musicians and in the choice of some of their favorite pop songs that they have added to their repertoire.
